My Role: Instructional Designer

Challenge: I Can! Dance of Arkansas is dedicated to enriching the lives of special needs children and teens through dance. To support this mission, I developed an ILT course for the dance instructors in volunteer management training to complement the training I created for the volunteer buddies. While the dance instructors are experienced dancers and instructors, they don't necessarily have experience in working with volunteers who are, in turn, working with special needs children.

Solution: This sixty-minute ILT course guides the dance instructors on communicating with their volunteers and successfully managing any challenges that could occur when working with their volunteers and special needs dance class students.

Time in Development: August 19 - 30, 2024

Results: The training course will be implemented in the winter of 2025 for incoming dance instructors for the spring dance classes.
